I can see I need to learn how to use CAD software.
I use Rhino - which has a Veteran's Discount - like 20 bucks or so. A lot of YouTube video tutorials. All I've posted are from Rhino.
I also use SolidWorks - also has a Vets/Students Discount - also pretty cheap. And a bunch of Tuts on line.
Rhino "seems easier," but maybe because I've spent more time with it. Also, I understand it matches well with 3D printers - can't confirm.
SolidWorks has Finite Element Analysis, and Computational Fluid Dynamics "built-in." I need to learn those, but the curve is really uphill!.
There are a couple of sites with models contributed publicly available. Can save a bunch of time.
Its a worthwhile tool. But Cardboard Aided Design also works good.
{I used plywood for the upright mockups! Leared a lot holding the prototype in my hands - before getting metal cut. Able to see the actual scale.}
Cheers - Jim
