Curious about St. Louis Corvette plant.

I drive through St. Louis several times a year to visit relatives in the midwest. I keep wondering what happened to the Corvette assembly plant there. Abandoned? Torn down? Built over?

Just curious.

The Corvette plant bulding was torn down. It was a part of the bigger St. Louis Truck and Bus Plant. Here is paragraph from a GM internet site describing the history.

When GM sold its St. Louis Truck and Bus Plant to Clark Properties, the developer had some major plans in mind for development. Clark Properties remodeled the 3 million square foot assembly facility along with two smaller buildings. Then the remaining 118 acres were cleared and redeveloped with new roads and landscaping. Renamed Union Seventy Center, it is now home to companies including Pepsi Cola, Save-A-Lot and the U.S. Postal Service. Approximately 15,000 employees enter the site each day, equal to peak production during its days as an assembly plant.

Thanks, I appreciate the information. I always wondered about taking a slight detour when I traveled through St. Louis and seeing the ruins, as it were. But, it sounds like there's no ruins to see anymore.
