Couples of posts and the thread is sidetracked AGAIN!
Damn, for once we have one more good project going on, can we stick with it?
Just My opinion!
OK now back to the build, Tuomas, is this the chassis DTM had for sale not long ago?
This is one great chassis for a C3.
Ask 1Michel, he did that recently.Great thread - and a heap of work!
If I may "back up a page." Do you (or anyone else) have any details of the FIREWALL removal?:fishing:
That is my next step. Nearly done with the IRS and it's subframe.
SO, the firewall goes next - and Tubing the interior - but that should (hahaha) be easy!
Cheers - Jim

Can't agree more on the derailing.
Speaking of chassis, why choosing this one over, like, SRIII chassis?

Because it was for sale with discounted price, ready for shipping and technically perfect for my plans..
Does anyone know, does any shop have available or manufacture stock replacement center rocker channels for bird cage??
Example ZIP has only inserts.. see link:

I know that Zip has the seat belt reinforcements for the birdcage,(they are the angle part welded to the inside floor of the cage) and the inset, but I couldnt find nothing about the rocker replacement.
I read about Caledonia, in Michigan who makes frame parts.
I dont think they have a web site and this is an add I found about them

Now THAT'S rebuilding a birdcage.
Very nice job sir, keep the pics coming each time something happens.
Something small happened today..
Are you sure you want to change the rockers??
From what I see, they dont look that bad, matter of fact, they are better than mine.
I would weld in insets for solidity if that is what worrying you and call it good.
remember all of this is covered in fiberglass.
Yes sir I'm sure if I'll find new ones. Yes they are covered but if I don't replace or restore all the necessary it will bothers me always.. Covered or not..
very ambitious build
