I've always heard that it's better to not have your car sitting on a cement floor, especially the tires. Under one of mine there is a couple of large pieces of linoleum and the tires are on rectangular pieces of carpet. I'd like to get one large piece of carpet or another large one piece of linoleum or something else to put under it. My other Vette has a large carpet remnant under it that I got from someone that was installing new carpet in their house and had a new fairly large piece left over. I've thought about getting enough of those interlocking rubber gym mats big enough to cover and area about 16' x 8'. What do you guys use if anything? Neither car is a daily driver and only driven on nice days when there is no chance of rain. I don't want to epoxy or paint the garage floor.

I used to store my motorcycle on the cement floor over the winter and lost air. I stored on plywood after that. Home Depot sells carpet that is really cheap. Can't remenber what it's called, Berber maybe?

My Corvette is not a good example. It's on jackstands way more often that its on the ground.

I have looked at Home Depot and you are correct. I called a carpet store that's pretty close and they said that they may have some "scrap" that would work. I want something that won't scrunch up when I turn the wheel, maybe a thicker indoor/outdoor carpet. I missed out on a deal where someone was selling 32, 2x2 interlocking gym mats for $25, I would have tried that in a heartbeat.

I got this carpet from a guy on Facebook for free and he was only 6 miles away. Talk about heavy, three of us struggled to get it in the bed of a pickup truck, even just moving it around on the floor was difficult. What is so great is that even when turning the wheel on this carpet, there is no buckling because it is so thick. Now I don't have a bunch of pieces of carpet under the car to fit together like a puzzle. Another bonus is this stuff is so thick that I could fall asleep on it next to the car no problem. :)
