Wastegate Swap?

Trying to up the boost on a Turbo 4 cylinder. Mechanical waste gate, maxes out at 8psi. Its a pretty large turbo, I'm sure it can do better. So the question is, how?

Wastegate upgrade? Are there universal wastegates for T3/T4 turbos? :lost:

Is it a hybrid turbo? internal wastegate? If so, you can he stock servo and install a turbonetics one.

Its an external wastegate, mechanically controlled. Youre speaking french to me, whats a hybrid turbo?

Stupid question, does a turbo even need a wastegate? If you run it without won't it just max out its boost potential?

Or is it possible to take it apart and play around with a heavier spring?

Or even just install a longer rod on the actuator so the gate can't open as much?
