OK - I can understand the corporate greed and the anger over the bail outs - **** - Citizens Bank just charged me $7.00 to cash a check drawn on their bank. No other banks in my area charge a fee to cash a check any more. But I digress.....
Have you looked at the appearance of the majority of these protesters? They complain about having no money but have you seen the number of piercings, ear gauges and tattoos they are displaying? Would you, as a business owner, want some one who looked like that representing your company? They bitch about having no money but how many of them own fancy cell phones and other such "must have" electronic devices that cost hundreds to purchase and hundreds each year to operate? How about the cost of all the body art? Where are their priorities?
So you want a job? Do you know what it means to go on an interview? Do you know how to present yourself? Can you even get to the place, can you get there on time? Can you communicate a thought? Write a sentence? Fill out an application? Did you bring your own pen or pencil or notebook to take notes in? What's that? Minimum wage isn't enough? What skills and experience do you have to offer? Are you as good as you think you are or are you blowing smoke up everyone's ass?
Yeah, you want a job, most of you haven't got a clue.
Yes, very well said DV8, and I agree with you completely.
Keep in mind we can pick on any particular details we choose to focus on to disparage any group or idea we wish. The media will only publish such snippets as will immediately grab attention and thus promote sales of their wares. A photo, a caption, a single sentence picked from among many in the "news" we hear from whichever source of propaganda we prefer (and yes, I have mine) present but one aspect of a larger idea. Remember how our parents generation reacted to rock&roll and long hair? It was the beginning of the ruination, the downfall, of all they had worked & sacrificed for: the end of civilization is upon us.
And this current young generation is not the same as we. Change happens. It's called evolution of the species.
That is as it should be.
I personally hate piercings &dreadlocks & tattoos & 'BFD' & 'LOL' & 'multitasking' & etc. etc. etc. (ha ha ha: "etc." vs. "LOL"--who the f**k am I to talk?)
But the idea behind the OWS protests you all should support.
One can focus on a photo of a fat black welfare queen (we assume: because it fits our comfortingly familier prejudices) as an excuse to dismiss this idea completely ---just as one can focus on a picture of a fat white gun-laden redneck (we assume: because it fits our comfortingly familierprejudices) to dismiss the Tea Party as nothing more than narrow-minded fanatics. Those images are only microscopic snippets of a much larger idea. If one steps back, you'll see that both Tea Partiers & OWS protesters are really after the same thing---Get the big money out from running, ruling, & ruining our lives soley for their own immediate gain. To stop them from continuing to turn us all back into serfs serving only their purpose. The 'big money' influence is not just big corporate elite. It is every bit as corrupting in the government. The conflict between official "parties" is that each side only sees--no, only 'promotes'-- that corruption from their point of veiw, for use toward their own gain.
(He ain't Glen Beck, but if you call yourself 'intelligent' & 'thoughtful' then you should also listen to Paul Krugman and weigh his ideas equally too. )

(Yeah yeah yeah I know what responses so many of you will give me, we all do. Quoted by rote. Just as mine are by now. Save your breath, OK?)
Maybe we should all get together, the redneck 'conservatives' & the hippy 'liberals' to form the Herbal Tea Party to work toward the common goal:

I'm really not the liberal commie socialist pinko so many of you think I am. Many of my veiws are very conservative. It is only in the interest of presenting both sides of a question that I say what I do. To try to understand all veiwpoints, all concerns, before passing judgement.
I refrained from touching this thread for as long as I could stand.
Here, look at this. Explore it a bit. Don't just look at the kneejerk 'headlines' and make a quick decision, look deeper. Yes, OWS is the story-de-jour. But look back farther, read some articles. You will find they are after the same thing we all are---maybe from a different direction than yours, but still, the same end.
