Have you have noticed all the changes in the Corvette aftermarket in just the past fast few years? Para-gone is gone. Name only. LICS is gone. Name only. Central and zip - There is no more showroom walk ins without an appointment to pick tour their previously placed credit card order. Now Saturdays they are all closed. Sounds like there may be a downsizing of staff and facilities.

Recent - Looks like the Corvette Central 6 dight part numbers are replacing the zip Alpha Numeric part numbers. Type a Corvette Central part number in the zip Search Box and you get the same exact part with the same exact price on both web sites. Works both ways - plug some zip part number into Central and it comes up.

Hmmmmph … me-thinks 2 web sites with the same exact part at the same exact price is just double the work, expense, catalogs, maintenance, staff …. so
Perhaps this is where another Corvette part business is going to leave VA and be absorbed into another in Sawyer, MI. The zip repair shop could be sold off like the Para-gone bone yard was. Somehow I don’t think Justin Abbott will make his prediction of a return to a VP position at zip.

I think it’s just going to be all CC soon. If LL and CRC get eaten by the “beast“ it will be even more centralized. Scott Kohn is 61, still there and I don’t have much contact with him. For the last decade or so Jerry Kohn and I would discuss things often. He expressed interest in buying prior to the Coker deal. In the years prior to zip buying LICS, they had a business broker in VA call and said their client was zip and was interested. But I never considered selling to zip.

PS a Corvette Foramen thread has info – he called CC – all shipping from zip is now from CC
Adios david – don’t let the door hit you on the ass on the way out
