Hey Folks,
I'm a new member and live near Glenwood, Maryland. I have a 1979 Corvette that I have been modding a bit for the last three years or so (as money dictates). The frame rusted out from the inside, right behind the right front wheel well. The windshield cracked, so it was time to park it. I got a replacement frame from an automatic (crossmember bolted in, not welded), that had 12,000 miles on it and had all the seams welded and blasted.
I upgraded the suspension with QA1 coilovers in front, QA1's in the rear, fiberglass spring, Delphi 600 steering box, chambered exhaust, hydraulic clutch ( a pita), and Wilwood master cylinder and calipers.
I have just put in a 383 with aluminum heads, thumper cam, Offenhauser cross-ram manifold with two 600 cfm Holleys, and am in the process of getting it running. Shorty headers have been a pita to get, so still have stock manifolds. I will post photos when I get it running.
I am a member of the Corvette Club of America in Maryland.
I'm originally from Ventura, California.
I spent 22 years in the Air Force (retired Master Sergeant) and 22 years with The Associated Press (Communications Technician). I am now retired and get to work on my car and home more. Need a job to relax, lol.
I am married with five grown children and eight grandchildren.
I go by the nickname of Van.
