We need more threads about birdcage repairs since it's the part of a C3 who is the most damaged and most overlooked.

I'm searching coating possibilities and black passivation could be one choice. So far the biggest problem is find enough big pool to do it in one piece..

I started to make some practice and memory refresh with fiberglass and carbon. First I needed small items to make molds.

Working with final finishing of painted pieces



Waxing them about 5 times



Gelcoat drying.



Fiberglass spreaded.(made few mistakes)



Molds removed. Obviously fresh pait was not enough dry, see original parts.



Next I'll finish the molds for actual carbon part and continue practising

Any advice welcomed!!!

First 1/2 of that, the wheel looked awful funny, almost like it was falling apart or something, must be a camera illusion.....the other side/ 1/2 of the film it looked normal....

BTW: I placed an order of the wheels.. Fronts will be 19" X 12" wide within 305/30R19 and rears 20" X 14" wide within 345/25R20

These will be fully custom made bad asses.. :devil:

Or out.. I'm also await L88 fender flares, fronts will add 4" each and rears 6" each. And chassis is also done with narrowed rear frame rails

I put 285/40s under mine, and had to notch the control arm - so I've a pretty good idea of the mountain you're climbing, and I'm impressed

I dont think he will have to notch anything.

Chrome bumper, decided it yesterday and placed an order as well took same L88 long model hood and new taillight panel plus bonding stripes!

Easier turn to new front end than start rebuid old one I think. But only never know the fitment of aftermarket parts, we'll see..

Cool, I think it might be a bitch to fit , like any aftermarket parts , but it's fiberglass and it will look soooo much better.
