The Turdle
who's gonna help me with this?
Its gotta be cheap and dirty.
I will give a hand the best I can...
Need a billet roller timing set?
i'm thinking transfer the L98 heads.
Won't that leave the car down awhile? Why not get some cheap chinese alum heads?
Yea, thats what I have. $800 shipped to my door complete. Bird has seen my engine run with them.![]()
God I HATE to admit it, but Glenn's engine screams with those things.:flash:
I have L98 heads too, ported the snot out of them (they are being discussed in the Vizard Cyl head book with lots of pics) Not hoping on tons of power but around 350 would be nice.
You guy's should buy yourself some Brodix heads and then you can build all the ponies you want:yahoo:

unfortunately, after shipping and taxes those heads will run us guys over here as much as $3000 :shocking:
I am saving my pennies for some track 1 CNC 215cc heads.
No, the tax goons are on to me, I have to pay for every package that arrives. I tried it via MyBad79 after doing it via Houston TX for years. I'm blacklisted as a parts smuggler most likely:flash:
They have those addys jotted down also
Gonna use a German address and see how that goes. At least their customs wo't hold packages for weeks and weeks (and the bad part is, you ahve to pay taxes over shipping too, so if you have stuff sent quickly it costs more for the shipping, more tax and they hold the packge for a week so you don't get the service you pay for...niiiice)

To answer turtles original question:
Get some heads with like a 67+ cc chamber or you are going to have to buy dish pistons.
A hyd roller cam so you dont have to buy fancy shmancy oils or wipe some cam lobes (used retro-fit rollers from the flea-bay)
There are plenty of cast or Hyper pistons available to meet your needs.
some el cheapo studs and roller tip rockers (cheap, and flea-bay maybe) and reuse your valve covers.
Timing covers are like $15 bucks or so.
A low profile Q-Jet intake so you can put your OE top end on it, (Q-jet intakes are a PIA btw)
depending on your mains cast crankshafts are readily available from eagle or scat for 150-200 bucks
a new balancer is a must, OE dampers are like $80 bucks, you are now internally balanced and can rob your old motor of its flywheel etc.
An edelbrock carb to get away from the Q-jet are cheap enough.
