After a year of being in the air, my 82 (drum roll please) is back on it's wheels!!!

No, I haven't started it yet, still a few minor things to do. And, it's Ramadan which makes going into town a super duper pain in the arse!

I took a couple Kev but they turned out very average. We went out there a bit before dusk and I thought the lighting would be great. WRONG! They all came out super dark so I spent ages messing around with Photoshop and now the colours look a bit off.

But, seeing as you asked soooooo nicely...

Thanks Dep. It took a bit of doing as they're old Cal Customs and never had a crossed flag logo. I had to make up an aluminium disc the same size as the boss where the decal goes on an OEM cover, then machine away the fins on the Cal Custom until the disc dropped in and then bolt it in there.

I still have to get a battery, new fan belts and some plugs to plug the heater hose holes in the valley cover and the water pump. But... it's Ramadan and this place is like a cross between a lunatic asylum and a circus. I knocked my pan out the last few weeks getting it this far, through some truly horrible weather, so I thought I'll take a little sabatical until the locals return to "normal" before I venture into town and track down the last bits I need.

I got all my braided brake lines finished and bought a flaring kit and some hard brake lines in town and made up the new lines I needed to go from the MC to the proportioning valve. Of course, I couldn't buy exactly what I needed so did what Gene suggested and bought the right size hard line (a piece about 6 foot long though???) but with the wrong fittings on it then just chopped up what I needed and used my old fittings.

Ha, you jest, my feathered friend. But... I tried powder coating some plastic and it actually worked! Have you ever seen a "chrome" distributor cap? It obviously depends on the type of plastic it is but some stuff can be done. Maybe I'll knock up a chrome or gold or even a "Christmas Cheer Green" dizzy cap for the Christmas give-away :1st:

Still got shit loads to do though. When I get it running (and registered) I'll drive it around for a little while but then I'll do the interior. At the moment, it's very much like the inside of a chicken coop with a steering wheel. I've driven in far worse before but Monster Lady won't even get in it for a photo, let alone ride in it, while it "looks and smells old" :huh:

Oh, I found a good powder match for the dark red interior so I can PC the horn button and various other metal bits when I tackle in the inside :thumbs:
