Well not a vapor lock issue. Fuel pump?

They also put a silly fan in the engine bay that blows in the aircleaner ducting after shutdown since the pump setup didn't cure the vapor lock issue at all. Couldn't get it sorted and dropped the HO engine option.

Best option is to use a FI pump w/ a return style regulator close to the carb to regulate it down. The continuous cool fuel feed w/ return to the tank practically eliminates vapor lock.
 
Never had a problem with my 84 h.o vapor locking. always ran good even on 100 degree days
