well i have a line on an open trailer for a great price $500 froma buddy, basically he was gifted a new enclosed trailer for his race car and this is now just an albatross.....total length of 2x decking is 14' and the diamond plate adds 2' for a total length of 16' and inside of wheel wells is 6' 10". 2 3500# axles one with brakes. so is it long enough for my car project needs now and into the future????

agreed the price is a no brainer, it needs a light kit and the pass side fender needs some of my TLC other then that it is in great shape. it has a new pressured treated deck on it thats 1-2 yrs old. i bet i could also cut off and sell that tire rack for $100-200

I would also check and repack the wheel bearings. New tires if it needs it.

SHIT! make me a offer I can't refuse, already....

time for action man....that thing with a tool chest or something is the Taj Ma HAUL.....

:D

I'd measure your project and see if it'll fit. It might really depend on how long yours is and if or how much you want hanging off either the front or back. Then after all that is done and considered go pick it up and take it home because that's a great price!!

Just jump on it! If it doesn't fit your needs, turn it over for a profit!
BTW, IMO maybe $50 for the tire rack. I think $100 -200 is a bit tall....but ya never know...

yeah i guess when you think about it there isnt much stock to that tire rack probably the welding cost more then anything. it may be worth that much to me as straight stock.

Here is my trailer I built back in 92, the deck is 14' long with a 4' beavertail the overall width is 101 1/2" (1/2" under max here) and 2 3500 # axles. I've had my Vette, my 77 Sierra longbox, an 85 Riviera and many other cars over the years.

Not only looks like a good solid trailer, but I dig the wheels as well!

Stock Ford 500 wheels

stpman thats a good looking trailer, i have decided to buy the trailer i cant imagine that anything i would want to do would not fit on the trailer... i am going out tomorrow am to lock it down in the industrial court that its in. i am excited to have this, now i just have to figure where to store it.

well i have been busy.....luckliy my daughter in laws family has a need to use the trailer for dump runs etc and they are close and have the space to store it. (which i dont) so i made it into a stake bed for them.....i figure the $160 for wood and hardware is a drop in the bucket compared to the storage fees i would incur inthe DC area...did i ever mention how much i hate DC!!!!!!

heres the work so far.....pressure washed and painted deck, painted the frame, made stake bed, removed old wiring and wire brushed and painted wheels and beat and welded the damaged fender back into submission, and i finished the rear swing gate tonight.

Good job. What kind of wood is that ?? Are you planning on some wood prtection like the stuff they sell for decks ??? One gallon should be more than enough, forgot the brand name (Hellsman??) at homedepot is like $25, it's for fences and decks....

the stakebed rails are 5/4 x 6" Pressure Treated and the stakes are PT 2x4s they are too wet to do anything with at the moment, maybe in spring time i can put something on it. the original 2x6 decking got a deck paint on it. i am hoping as the stake bed sides dry they dont twist too badly. i made the front section so it is captured in the tire rack and can not twist out or twist in. i did the same with the gate on the back it sits in side the stake bed and has two hasps on it that doesnt let it bow out. time will tell how well it fairs....

Done!!!!!!!!!!

well it was a fun little project....$500 for trailer, $150 paint, stake bed wood, hinges, new safety chain, etc, $25 lights, $30 rear lights

well didnt do much "new" other then add rear lights and make a rear light bracket to hold it in so the trailer is incompliance with new DOT stds, bought new safety chain, replaced and rewired all lights, added stake bed wood and gate , painted trailer, painted wheels, fixed banged up fender, added new safety reflective strips.

its on its way to son's inlaws where they are going to use it for household trash dump runs and what ever else they need it for.....i dont have a place to store it and i have no real use for it on a regular basis so this seems like the perfect deal to me, especially since i have so little in to it.
