L98 en LT1, internal/external balance.

A question : around what year did GM move from internal balance to external balance on these engines. I believe this was 1988 but not sure.

Would have to have come when they went with a 1 piece RMS which was around 1986

My memory is hazy on this, got into a discussion with a neighbor on it the other day.....

I forget the sequence, but I think aluminum heads came on convertible only vettes....for the first year.....
