Is this door gap fine on a 1982? Or should I fix it with glass or filler?

I could probably slide the door back a bit since the gap is much smaller up there. Or shold I just leave it as is? I have lots of glassing to install my hood scoop so that would be a excellent time to add some glass here if necessary. But will the weatherstrip seal like this my gap was much larger than this but I shimmed the rear mounts a bit. Both doors have a similiar gap so I just figured this is a C3 thing..... So would you leave it? Glass it? or use a body filler? to fix this issue ....

It's hard to tell from that picture. How does the gap around the whole door look?

It is even, it's widest point I think is a hair over a 1/4 inch but drinking influenced a misjudgement possibly. I guess I first have to align the decklid and top before glassing if that is what it needs.

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish, but personally I find that gap unacceptable.

Here's what we ended up with on my '71. See if you can shim the body some more and then add material to the jamb, not the door edge.

seems easier to do this on a coupe though, mines a convertible so the decklid might be hard to do.

Check your rear body mount. If your front gap is good, leave it alone and don't move the door.
The rear mount could be rusted through and allowing the body to sag. It is very fixable and we have all the pieces to fix it. If the mount is good you may need some body shims there. Try loosening the mount and take a floor jack with a board across the bottom of the battery tray and slowly jack the rear of the body up. Just a very very very little at a time, you will see how quickly the gap will close up.
Thanks
Justin
