As some of you know, i'm (amongst other things) assembling my wiring back in the car.

It also entails putting in the FI wiring (Megasquirt).

I have a cable for the FI that has a DB37 connector (female) on the end. I was thinking on building a box on top of my manifold, to lead all the sensors and injector wiring to and to connect the wires in this box (kind of like an early C2 FI box).
I could put a male DB37 connector in the end of the box on top of the manifold where all the wires would connect to and just connect the female DB37 there. Would make disconnecting the engine a snap.

Something in the order of this type of box (except that in my case it would not serve as the intake manifold)

However, i'm not sure if it's a good thing to use these connectors under the engine bay.

Any input ?

Thanks

The fewer connectors you have in any electrical setup, the better, believe me....and you definitely do NOT want any computer connectors under the hood you don't have to have...period....

obviously the TPS, IAC, etc have to be connected and the GM weatherpac connectors seem fine....but to use a computer connector?? heat, vibration, cold, weatherproofing are all against it....

All it is, is about 1/2 dzn plugs anyway, what's the point??

Good luck with your MS install, mine did not work much at all....

do you have a friendly connector or that old DB9 pin serial bus on it??

and if so, you find a tough time maybe with USB to 9 pin adaptors.....

it drove me crazy and so went back to my old OEM computer....

I am curious what happens though, so please keep me/US informed....

still curious as to just WTF went rong.....

:bonkers:

I have an old Laptop with Com available for this. I already played around with the stim and it seems to operate without problems. However, this still leaves me to play with the real thing.

I was thinking of an ampseal connector, but over here, they only deliver to professional buyers...

Is this a MS2?I have been assy. a MS3, & used GM weather seal connectors on the engine ,seems to be good.I did have a long hunted problem with the injectors, couldn't get #1 & #8 to fuel, finally found the problem on the board,a soldier bridge that made it try to fire both at once.
DIYAutoTune may have the connecters your looking for, they show a bulkhead set up to take MS harness thru the firewall for race cars ect. http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/weather-pack-22-position-bulkhead-connector-kit-p-364.html
This what you need?
