Damn Pop-ups keep popping up!

Hey, guys, I need some advice. Lately I keep getting a shitload of pop-ups on the screen. I have the pop-up blocker set to block everything, but crap keeps coming through. What am I doing wrong?

Advice greatly appreciated.

I use Firefox, not only faster, but with their popup killer too, works nice....

SOME guys like Google Chrome, I find it locks up my machine....so killed it off and went back to FF....

I don't even have any AV on here, I have found it does nothing but slow the machine down....on all the machines I have had for some 15 years now...go figger, other folks have NO such complaints....:hissyfit::gurney:

Download a free little program called CCleaner

http://www.ccleaner.com/download

When installing choose to only install it to the recycle bin menu, no Yahoo Toolbars etc.

Rightclick on Recycle bin and choose run cleaner. It will take a few minuutes the first time.
Then choose Open CCleaner to fine tune options.

Your Blockers will not clean whatever is already there.

Used it for years with no probs.

Download hijackthis and CWshredder. 1st run the shredder, then run hijackthis and post the log if you don't know what is what.

Also check the windows system32 dir for recent exes or dlls with funky names.

Some other guys over there recommended I run "superantispyware" and "malwarebytes". They've both done well for me. Do a search. Free and work well.

Yep. Years ago I used Adware. It took all the spyware out, but put theirs in. LOL
Ever since I started using Norton some 5 years ago, virus and spyware are ZERO. Popups, never get them. Sometimes, I have to ALLOW one I need.:thumbs:
