Guys, my son is taking a ASE cert course for high tech and electrical cars/hybrids so if he sticks with auto repair his training will be good, trick is....he really don't understand automotive electricals all that well, in fact anything electrical....hard time with E=IR let alone anything to do with inductance and reactances.....

so to anyone have any ideas as to good WELL EXPLAINED books he can study up with ???

stuff he maybe can find on ebay or amazon?? or a cheaper source??

lemme know,

Thanks....

Not AUTO - but Volts is Volts...

Gene -
there are a few good basic books that I always intro my mates with in the cruising community...
The 12volt Doctor - is an easy - "Volkswagens - for the Complete Idiot" style (there I date myself). Also, Ample Power has some good info on their website too (www.amplepower.com -- as I recall). They have/had Wiring for 12 volts and Living on 12 Volts.

Cruising is a bit different lifestyle - but Amps is Amps --and they use a Beer Analogy to help 'splain it all -- maybe why I like it?!
And, with the today's consumption of amps - cooling fans, ac, dvd, gps, differential pumps for mre cooling, etc, etc.; soon the 'vette is just a fast land yacht/racer - no? And direct transference to your Clamper - eh?

Cheers - Jim
BTW - if you give me a bit of time I might shake out some pdfs if that helps too. I'm no "Sparky", so I need to keep the reference!

If he wants to specialize in hybrids and electrics, there is no better source for educational materials on the design and function of these sysyems than the SAE.
