Weight reduction: Running out of ideas.

Caught my interest. Best I could find (short search) was for C6 Corvette. Had to zip. Just about 100 items. Might be vaguely interesting/useful. Maybe more out there. I used to have an uprights list from the Locost Build sites, etc. Cheers - Jim

Weight reduction: Running out of ideas.

Just a thought - and across town: On FB. listed as John Chase for $200. Looks like could use some work - but lightweight? Disregard - weight more than the "79 seat - maybe. Cheers - and happy hunting! Jim

Weight reduction: Running out of ideas.

I've been working the floors - drooping them about 2" for seating height. Reg says; a minimum of 2 inches from top of the helmet to top for roll bar/cage. But my "skull bucket" would still "tap" the cage - so I am dropping the floors. [Don't raise the bridge - Lower the Water -obscure movie...

I recall that being referred to as "Technique" - not "Procedure" in flight school. It is a very useful skill to keep in your tool kit! The best ones are FUN too! Cheers - Jim

Pappy - That "jet" you will create will be very interesting. It will be well "disguised" using the headlight as an "intake." Kind of like the P-51 Mustang oil cooler "jet." Can't say its the same - but similar. That high speed jet - entering a constricted area, moving into a larger area...

    EXTERNAL AERODYNAMICS

I was hesitating posting this one. I was going to keep it "my little secret" but there is an opportunity rising here. UOP Shadow was a unique CAN-AM team that brought a lot of innovation (in External Aero) to the track. Here is an example that could be a potential solution to increasing...

    4) DUCT TAPE!! Or, LeMans buckets might be shallower if using modern rectangular LEDs. Then, you could swap the fiberglass covers with lexan and transparent blue mylar. Would look "semi" stock." Maybe less weight too. The stock light buckets are pretty heavy - mechanism, etc. 2) I guess...

It's because they are 2x GOOD? Nice rake - or are you on the brake? Looks real sweet on the track. Cheers - Jim

Gorgeous workmanship. I'd be tempted - but hate cut a diffuser into that CF airdam - but it might be useful... The appears to be a lot of real estate available. (I'll admit - I just watched - didn't listen to the audio) Could have missed a clue there. Cheers - Jim

    Some interesting metal working tools

Just the Featherlite ought to be worth most of the asking price- But of course Buyer - Beware... Wide enough? Looks narrow - dual bike trailer maybe? Cheers - Jim

    Some interesting metal working tools

Coincidence? I've been researching various methods to make an enclosure for my car-hauler. Been looking (seriously) at SnoCaps, for a "Serpent Express-Style" build. And, also been considering a DIY effort using Maker-Pipe and EMT Conduit. Cover with Aluminum Composite panels or canvas...

    Misc Vintage Racing Clips

Hmm - Anyone consider a couple of Drift Pedals? Maybe a set of dual shifters on the center console? Place one aft to "tweak" a bit of pressure in just one side or the other? Joy-stick style? Plumbing couldn't be terribly difficult. Or, take the easier route. There is a video of...

    CAD Files of a "Baldwin-Like" C3 1.0

I have uploaded several CAD files of a Baldwin-like mod for the C-3 rear deck. They are ZIP files and located on my 1Drive. These are too large to load here. The jpg is a "placeholder." The models have been"smoothed" for CFM work. As a result; there are NO Bumpers. NO Mirrors, the front...

Pappy good fill. AND, good example on the C1. I'll use some of that on mine too. That 6# structure - you doing your own TiG? I need to add that to my bag... The Airdam on the C1 is exactly what I was trying to 'splain. Came across an old pic that might show how to on a C-3: The piece in...

Fastening an airdam could be useful, but require some mods to the Pace Car Spoiler. Maybe 'glass in a lip to blind fasten to? I could be way-off here - sold the Pace Car Spoiler over 15 years ago. so have no real-world data to work from. But I recall the lower lip was substantial(?). With...
