Any comments on how it handles with the tall wing position? Looks good, I would think it would help.

...have to have the side windows open may as well get some ventilation. :) Seriously, incorporating the spoiler mount into the already mounted wing base plates is a real good idea. You'll get a very variable angle with that set up you've worked with you C-A-D "program." I went with 15 degree...

...the reason I used a radar arch instead of this style of aero is because that step to the back window creates huge turbulence, but putting the wing in clear air, I could get good flow. Problem to be address is that wing is illegal for Optima. Not dissing the rules at all but what you can go...

...to do some CFD of just the foil section. All the "sticky-stuff" is at the customer's. Best thing (for me) I don't have to finish my hot-wire wing cutter! BTW - I have seen some foam foil suppliers in the RC world that do just this, without the CFD. I've seen some that provide just...

...complete cage would be stiff, light, and economical. Interesting that you say the big block beats LS. I’m assuming it is the raw torque. I keep watching prices on alum big blocks skyrocket, it is kind of difficult to watch. So now that you’ve run the wing and the spoiler, how do they...

If this is what they had first, it looks inefficient. Thick wing cross-section, not much camber, not much space between suction surface and trunk, and exaggerated wicker bill. Low mount means dirtier air.

I haven’t had a chance to go though this, but there appears to be a lot of info. I saw an ad for corvette parts and he was selling a wing. https://9livesracing.com/pages/cfd-testing Edit: he seems to cater to the import cars.

I keep seeing carbon fiber wings for sale with photos like this one below. Do you think they would have been happier with how it worked if they didn’t mount it backwards. Might get a good deal on one of these.

If you go to the APR Products web site, they have a lot of detail about different wing configurations. The link below is an example of their discussion of their dual element wing. If you scroll down, there is a link to the CFD data that gives detail about the relationship between downforce and...

On your stainless welding are you back flowing argon or using paste? Also, mig or tig? Looks good. With wings aren’t most people cutting through the body and connecting right to the frame, either through the deck or rear valence? Then adding a grommet? CF might have good info. Interested...

I think 3d printers start around $400. But, like every thing, you keep upgrading software and computers. There was a used APR GTC-300 for sale a few weeks ago locally for $800. So, unless you want something special it probably isn’t a good idea. There has been a second one for $1200 for...

I should have put more angle of attack into it - it's biggest help is under hard braking. I'll keep playing with it to get best compromise....

Looking good! That wing should be very efficient. You are definitely going to need a front air dam/splitter to balance the aero forces.

Sorry - one more... I wanted to check my assumptions of downforce of the rear wing. But, I had to make some other assumptions - but this may "bound" your solution. For simplicity I used a Joukowski Airfoil (no endplates). Then, I inverted it for our needs and ran some numbers: Wing set at...

Mfain has apr on his car. I was looking at their products and saw something new, which we have discussed. https://aprperformance.com/racing-product/gt-250-adjustable-wing-swan-neck/

In your processing your wing support - don't forget (discount) wire and turnbuckles. These can be "weight effective," out of sight, add rigidity, and "tweak-able."

time to give it wings.. or a wing aluminum angle some solid eyeball calibrating followed by serious staring wing held on by hopes and prayers with an assist by gravity it's about here I'm considering whether or not I like the stands.... they need to parallel something, e.g. the rear valence...

BBC - NA. LS is a fantastic platform for turbos, but I've been watching a really nice 70 Chevelle that has all the protouring mods at Optima. He's not doing well because he either is in boost lag or on boost and either breaking something or out of control. Spoilers... I think it helps on...

...I'm going to make the Optima spoiler adjustable. from the other side explanation... Optima has some requirements that make the 'standard' wing pointless... so I am building brackets that allow bolting a clear duckbill style spoiler onto the car in place of the other spoiler. With that...

Personally, I favor the look of matching the B Pillar with the leading edge of the struts. When you fab the shorter Optima struts, maybe match both when you make the "cut." The lower edge of the end plate looks nearly aligned (parallel) with the flying buttress trailing edge. When you get...
