    EXTERNAL AERODYNAMICS

My car has those same openings. I haven't had engine overheating issues, so I've been incrementally blocking off the air entrances to the radiator in an effort to reduce the amount that eventually finds its way under the car, increasing lift and drag. I have both front outer grilles blocked off...

    EXTERNAL AERODYNAMICS

GM put a deflector under the engine support on IROC Camaros that was much lower then is 'normal' - it rarely dragged and was pretty effective at helping keep the engine cool. Never considered it would help the brakes too but I'm sure it did

    EXTERNAL AERODYNAMICS

That's pretty much the exact setup I've been running for several years. (y) Last week I added an additional one inch lower strip to it for track days. It comes off with six bolts for street use. Behind the airdam I have about four feet of Lexan bellypan to discourage air from just balling up in...

    EXTERNAL AERODYNAMICS

This may be a little hard to explain, but here is what I would suggest. Add brackets to the frame behind the front fascia to support the splitter, Then attach the air dam (really a filler panel in this case) to the bottom of the spoiler but do not attach it to the splitter as a supporting...

    EXTERNAL AERODYNAMICS

Lots of interesting items being shown and discussed. I'm enjoying this thread. While I'm trying to figure a robust enough design for the cowl area aero flow spoiler, I've added a couple more feet of undertray to the car (about four feet total back from the Pace Car spoiler) and looking at...

    EXTERNAL AERODYNAMICS

Keeping the stock look makes it tough. Maybe try raking the body a bit (lower the front and/or raise the rear). The floor you put in under the engine compartment might like more rake. How about a traditional looking chin spoiler that is really a modern splitter.

Ya made me LOOK! The So-Called GT Tail must be referring to the rear deck spoiler. In 1974, both front and rear bumpers were urethane - so there was a "roll-off" on the rear deck. No spoiler/lip = Gt Tail. Mystery solved? Cheers - Jim

Putting this here • GTV - any spoiler or wing configuration with a maximum of 8" tall from the highest point on the rear of the decklid or a maximum height of 6" above the lowest point of the rear window, whichever is less. The maximum width of the spoiler/wing must be no wider than the original...

Front Spoiler vs Front Air Dam

The factory spoiler on my 69 is long gone. I am having bodywork done after many years of damage. So, I thought this might be a good time to replace the spoiler. Just so you know, the car is 50% street driven and 50% track time, mostly HPDE and Time Trials. I could get the regular spoiler as...

    Rear end "gronnnch" noise

Had some problems with my 255/60's hitting the finder in the front and the inner fender in the rear. I had to grind the front spoiler and in the rear I had to add a aluminum plate to the inner fender to prevent it from rubbing through the inner fender. I can tell you from experience it make a...

    Last little items -fitting issues

I'm finishing up on my car. The last couple of items are being installed and I'm running into several issues. First I had issues with the tire rubbing the front pace car spoiler and now, after installing my L88 hood, the hood was pushing too much on the stock L82 airtake duct causing the fan to...

Looking for pic of installed 3pc pacecar front spoiler

Title say it all. I'm looking for closeup pic that shows how the spoiler fit the fender and how the back of the spoiler fit the wheel arch. If you got pic on underside it's even better. My spoiler pieces were made from mold of uncertain origin and I want to make sure they are similar to the...
