    Fuel Tank Vent

Cool solution  You can use Drano Crystals to strip the anodized coating as well. You make a solution with warm water and soak the part. I'ts a bit fumy, so be careful and don't leave your parts in too long --unless you like black. :flash:

    Power steering return line fitting

Alright guys, I need a little help. I'm trying to sort my power steering lines and I'm running into a problem which I can't seem to find an answer. I have the pressure side pretty much sorted. The return from the valve to the pump, though, has me a bit stumped. My stock return line just makes it...

    Braided Fuel Line recommendation?

I truly appreciate it, but I know myself well enough that I will break you tools and mangle my hardline in way no one thought possible. Have you seen my U-joints thread? I don't have the best record... :gurney::blush: I think the more simple solutions are the best route for me, no pun intended...

    Braided Fuel Line recommendation?

That's a pretty sweet job and impressive with their technology. They aren't cheap, but I would prefer not to lose the vette because I saved $20 on my hose ends. I'm kicking this around at the moment. I have some 3/8" SS line that I was going to run down the frame, but recently decided it was...

    Braided Fuel Line recommendation?

Thanks for the replies. I agree it looks like an afterthought with the first option. The fuel rail nipple is directly to the right of the fuel line in the first picture. It's perpendicular to the fuel rail and is dead level so coming from the front or back of the engine will require me to go...

    Braided Fuel Line recommendation?

Bumping an old thread in order to ask a routing question. I'm finally looking into routing my fuel lines and I have a dilemma. There seems to be two routing options with the current configuration and both have some drawbacks. Keep in mind this is on the driver's side. First up is routing the...

    god damn Ujoints

:cussing::cussing::cussing::cussing: I'm at the end of my rope. I'm hoping you all can give me a tip or two on U-joints, specifically with the half shaft flanges. I cannot seem to get the U-joint 'inside' the flange enough to get the clip in on both sides. I've tried cleaning and smoothing the...

Some stuff I forgot I had

So as I've written lately, I had a flood in my shed, which caused me to go through my parts storage system (read "pile"). Here are a few parts I'd like to sell because I just don't have a use. Keep in mind, these WERE under water during my flood! First up, stock '75 4 speed shifter: The only...

Temporary rolling the car, 1/2 shafts needed?

As related to my flooded thread, I'm looking to get my vette off a roll-on lift and into the garage before winter hits. However, I just discovered a new issue. I had Gary go through my rear end last winter. I'm now a proud owner of a super 10 bolt :D But, this means the current U joints at the...

    Flood damage to some parts

How's everyone doing? I haven't been around much since I haven't touched the vette in over a year. Not by choice, life always finds a way to get in the way. A lot has happened, but I digress... I was somewhat fortunate with this Hurricane Sandy. How have you all made out? :rain: I was about...

    Hobart or Miller?

Hey guys, I noticed there's a few welders on here  I'm looking for a welder and two have caught my eye. The Hobart 210MVP http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200479230_200479230 The Millermatic 211 Autoset with MVP...

    Braided Fuel Line recommendation?

Ethanol does eat rubber. I wasn't confident that the material contained in 'normal' braided hose would hold up to Ethanol and I've had my own experience of low pressure rubber fuel lines leaking only after a year installed. My personal theory as to why so many people can smell gas in their...

    Braided Fuel Line recommendation?

I don't think either is wrong, it's just what that particular manufacturer uses. Red Horse and Aeroquip use steel hose ends like these: Cool. I just started putting these together so I'll put a little on the threads and a touch on the cone. Definitely don't want that floating through the...

    Braided Fuel Line recommendation?

Bump! I figured I would just continue this thread instead of starting a new one. I wound up getting some great stuff for fuel lines. All braided lines are PTFE (Teflon) lined which requires a special hose end used; Steel instead of aluminum. So my question is, where I have these Steel AN hose...
