What is the widest tyres that will fit under the Mid -America flares on a 75 ???. The rims that I have are 16"s that are 14"s wide, the tyres that are on them are 27/14/16s goodyear eagles (or 355/40/16s,) the rims are genuine centre-lines with 5" bs, but when you run a tape over the tyre it's actualy 17"s wide!!!, are these wider than anyone is running out there in vette world???. Any comments or pics would be appreciated. Daniel.

You will not be able to get a wide tire in 16".. Widest available is what, 295??? What you have now, sounds like a set of slicks by the dimensions. Do you have a pic of the wheels? I have 16x12 rear rims with 335/45R16 tires

These would have fit, if I hadn't widened the rear suspension by 2" (one each side) they stick out a tad.

I also have a set of hoosiers that ar 29" wide, they do stick out.

Thanks for your help, great pics. The tyres on the rims have tread the same as road patern but on side-wall it says "not for street use". I have searched everywhere here in OZ and can only get Hoosiers that are pro-street and DOT approved for road use, my main concern was getting them under the gaurds!! those flares on the first pic of racervette's look perfect, could you please enlighten me on "CG" flares and where to get them? Thanks heaps Daniel.

They where from Competition Fiberglass, unfortunately they are not in production anymore. The molds are still out there somewhere. Howard might know where they are. Last I heard was Paul Carny was the owner of them, and where on loan to Competition Fiberglass while they where in production.

I had planned on making molds from these this winter, but I've lost interest in racing. Lost my life long team mate in Nov. The one that introduced me to racing and motorsports.

Sorry to here about your loss, I think it might be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack finding those flares or mold, If it's not to much trouble do you think you could PM some pics of the gaurds to give me a bit of an idea of size and shape as it seems like I'll have to fab my own as I go along. Thanks again for you help.
