Shortly after I bought my car, I bought brand new weatherstrips from Ecklers and Mid American.
Now after 5 years they have shrinked and what was perfect and tight fitting before is now a gap of 1/4"-1/2".
The weatherstrips on the t-tops is worst.
It's suppose to be close to the door window.
I can now put in my finger betewen the weatherstrip and window.
And water is leaking in here and there when driving in rain.

Is it possible to find original weatherstrips made by GM?
Or do I have to buy that crap from China once again?

:hissyfit: I just replaced all/most of the weatherstrip with the new convertible top....it's corvette rubber compny CRC from Wilcox.....

I dunno where made, CRC been around a long time....hope it's good....

Do the CRC weatherstrip have a slippery thin skin or not?
The weatherstrips I have are a little sticky on the outside, and leaves black rubber on the painting.

I would say it's pretty slick, and no rubber comes off as I was working with it....

I just went to check it, looks fine, top been up a while now and it seals pretty good....I also did the doors, which typical fit snug, so have to slam hard now, but better than the disintegrated/baked out tips that were on there....

:bump:

I'm hoping the CRC stuff is the right stuff, I ordered a bunch of it from willcox too....fingers crossed.

Ok!
The CRC seems to be a better choice so far.

What about GM, do they still sell weatherstrips?

I bought some last year for a C3 hardtop and convertible top. They look just like the OEM stuff. Got them from Doc Rebuild

Did you happen to notice any stamping saying CRC on any of it?? mine did....

your comment on OEM I would guess yes.....:smash:

I got a set of door w/s for my car from Soffseal.
They originated from a company called "Keen Parts"
I haven't installed yet so I can't comment on them.

Are the Soffseal strips soft/elastic as the original strips?
The one I have feels more solid then soft.

The repro's I have are smooth and hollow like originals.
The molded ends look good as well.

I got my weatherstripping from Wilcox and so far so good... it's been at least three years and there's only a minor leak at the T-tops which I consider acceptable as these tops were leaking the day you drove the brand new car off the dealer's lot.... :mobeer:
