Shifter cable broken, will this replacement cable fit?

It was a while since I was here, but I aint dead yet......

My shifter cable have is broken!
The thin steel tube at the end is loose and slides forward/backwards when shifting.

(The pic is not from my car, found it on CF, it's just to illustrate the cable)



Can anyone confirm that this replacement part from Autozone fits my Th400:

I just had a look at the Auto Zone part number for a 1979 C3 with a TH350, it's the same shift cable as listed for your '71, part number CA-1145. I know I have my old shift cable somewhere in a box in my garage, I don't need it since I installed a 5spd...you can have it once I found it.... :drink:

That's good environlmental thinking, reuse of old stuff!
I just got some Ecodesign education in the R&D department where I work, so we are right on track here!
