Greetings,

My mechanical oil pressure gauge quit working, so I placed a temporary mechanical gauge on the galley port at the front of the block (near H20 pump). I am reading 60lbs at idle cold and 50ish at hot idle. This seems more than I remembered, with no changes. Does this port have higher pressure than the port at the rear china wall area?

no should be about the same. The rear vertical oil galery on the china wall goes directly into the main gallery off the pump, the one in the front should have a lower pressure if any difference.

thanks TT, I am going to use a lower viscosity oil at the next change and see how that effects the oil pressure. I had the car "off the road" for 5 yrs., so maybe my memory was foggy...
