After reading about CompCams "new" four lobe cam, I am thinking about utilzing a larger rocker arm ratio for cyl.s 1,2 & 7,8. I currently have 1.6:1 on intake and exhaust. I have heard not to run 1.7s due to a bad geometry issue, but what about 1.65s? much cheaper than the high tech cam...

I've used 1.65s on Vortec and Performer RPM heads. No issues. On the Vortec in addition to addressing lift limitations I had to drill out the pushrod holes to ½" IIRC. I don't know if push rod length would have been different than on 1.5s because both those engines were new builds and never ran 1.5s on them.
I've been advised that some of the newest aggressive cam lobes may not respond well to rocker ratios higher than stock but most street cams are fine with it.

I have edelbrock performer rpm heads too. Good to know that the 1.65s worked for you. thanks for the feedback.
