Posi 10 bolt pickups.....

Yeh, it's about the silverado again....'96, 1500 ext cab, 5.7 Vortec....
auto trans, but dunno, suspect 4L60e.....

ten bolt open rear, need posi.....

last time I swapped a posi carrier into a ten bolt, it blew up....put in a 12 bolt....

same thing on a Mopar 3/4 ton van.... with a smaller rear, put in a 9.25 posi rear, break THAT!!!!


SO, how common is posi on this vehicle?? much less how common is a 12+ bolt rear for a swap?? any clues about gear ratios??:beer:

I would think that there are a few out there, my 01 1500 ext cab had a 3.73 posi in it

I'd say do a CL search in your area, there are always various posi rears for sale.

Trans is a 4L60e. The rear might be a little tough to find. Do some research- GM did a few funky things with axles- there might be 10 bolts around the cover, but it could be an oddball size.
