Hi all, registered a while back but never got to say hi. I have a 77 Vette which I have owned for about 9 years, converted it to RHD myself, well except for the steering bit, centred the engine and trans purely for access "room" on the right hand side of the engine, one inch can be a lot if you don't have any at all and yes I know that is likely get some grins, laughs etc. The car is dedicated LPG, no fuel at all. I refreshed the engine with Edelbrock manifold and heads and a cam better than the standard L-48. I must say a BIG THANKYOU to all of you for this forum as it has provided me with so much information about how to go about fixing my car when things go wrong, every time I have a problem or question all
I have to do is go to "SEARCH" type in a subject or question and someone has already had the same issue and knows how to solve it, so thankyou.

Welcome to the motley crew.....

and I 2 am interested in the LPG conversion....especially your MPG/well cost calculations per mile....

:D

The gas system consists of a Impco ct425 mixer on a 650 Holley base and an Impco model L converter plus all of the necessary shut off valves and solenoids which were all put on by the company that installed the system. The LPG tank is in the same place as the old fuel tank, unfortunately it wasn't put in high enough so now I don't have a spare tire but I do carry a small compressor and a bottle of puncture repair (a green liquid with vegetable fibre in it), the manifold is an Edelbrock PERFORMER AIR GAP, the hood is a replica L88 so I have some extra room. Fuel economy on LPG with the tired L-48 was 15 MPG, haven't had a chance to do a test yet with the new motor but it isn't worse than it was before.I put the filling point behind the rear licence plate. Hope this helps some. 98 octane fuel over here is around $1.58 cents a litre (4.5 litres to the gallon), LPG is around 66 cents a litre so I run the Vette for approximately the same price as my wife runs her 1.3 ltr Barina (4 cylinder engine) so I think it's pretty good.
