When did Corvettes start using the intermittent wipers switch on the steering column? Late C3 or C4?

Late C3s have an adjustable interval wiper. 78 up. on the knob, the only model with the wipers on the column is the 77.

Is the adjustable interval wiper controlled with a pulse board like a modern car?

On the 78-82s it's controlled by that big honking box w/ wires called the wiper control module. It's the discontinued thing that is suspended above the jack where the plastic part of held to the metal bracket with fiberglass reinforced tape. The tape deteriorates, the circuit board falls out and shorts out on the jack...just perfect :D

The 77 doesn't have pulse wipers.

Maybe you can use a control box out of an 80s truck, the box is small and mounted behind the dash, about 1/10th the size of the C3 thing. It's small enough to be tucked under the dash. I think 83 was the last year with the wiper switch on the dash. The neat thing is they have the control box separate from the actual wiper switch.
