I need suggestions on..............

Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated. I've sent the bad ss braided hoses back, and I'm going to go with what a few of you have said. Retain the stock hard lines and see how it works. With all the brakes I've done in the past 38 years, this has to be really good. The entire brake system will be new except for those hard lines and the brake pedal. Can't wait for those new hoses to get here.

I still have to pull the rear stub axles to put new parking brake hardware on. The E-brake looks as if it's not been used too much in the life of the car. It just has some bad hardware.

Should be done soon, and I'll be burning up the road again.

Next up, windshield wipers and complete weatherstriping!!!!

Thanks again,
BBTank

I'll vote for In-Line tube. I've bought SS lines for my 68 and 70. I'd recommend buying SS lines with SS fittings. A set of brake lines with SS fittings will cost about $25 dollars extra.

If you're doing a custom brake line system and want SS, then make up the brake lines using copper lines with soft steel fittings. Then send them to In-Line. They'll laser scan them and duplicate them in SS.

I've installed brake lines on my 68 with the body on three times. First time, I bought Classic Tube and knurled the soft steel fittings on the SS lines, so I removed them and reordered a new set from them with SS fittings. Second attempt: Installed them and when I was about to do the finishing touches by mounting them to the MC, I discovered I had PB brake lines not Manual Brake lines - removed them and third attempt: ordered In Line Tubes and installed them.

After three installs, it only took about 20 minutes to get them in!!

With new SS lines, get all new brass distribution blocks to insure a good seal. With all new SSBC aluminum calipers, a new rebuilt MC and all new lines, I used silicon brake fluid. I've got hard brakes.
