I tried to see what data is on the photos that I uploaded directly from my phone but I cant's see anything other than filesize and such... maybe I have that GPS function turned off on my phone ...

interessting stuff anyways, you might want to check your phone photos....

The GPS data is why car spotting sites are so crappy, perfect for thieves to know where the cars are located.

I must be olde or something, thinking of taking a pix of GPS at speed to prove you are actually DOING that speed, not some sick speedo or other bullcrap....

is it safe to upload pics from my phone? What if I save it on my computer and then upload? Is the gps data still there ?
I think I have turned this gps stuff off, when I use google maps on my phone it asks everytime if I allow sharing my location.

I read about this a few weeks ago and researched my photos. My old phone didn't geotag the photos but the new one did, so I went in the settings and turned the function off.
If you are wondering if your photos have the geotag on them, view the photo with Picasa 3. Any photo with a geotag is designated as such. you can remove the tag if you wish using Picasa 3.

Picasa 3 is a free download if you don't already have it.
