Ross here from downunder.
Been playing with Corvettes since the mid seventies. Tried to give it up a couple of times, but it's a disease, and for me at least there is no cure.
Been down the restoring route ,back in the nineties, with a '62 fuelie, loaded auto '64 ragtop,'69 L71 ragtop, and a '69 L68 coupe, but got bored with it.

The old vettes were great back in the seventies when your everyday car was from the same era, but these days the old vettes drive like old trucks I reckon ( sorry, not wanting to offend anyone ).

So back in 2006 I conspired to design and build "Prodigy". Prodigy is a composite C2/C5Z06 vehicle that took me many years and 8,000 hours to build.
Check it out at www.prodigy-z06.com

Now that it's finished, and ticked all my boxes with the result, I've decided now to build a '68 ragtop ontop of a C6 Z06 platform.

I believe my approach with Prodigy hasn't been done before, well at least I'm not aware it has.
Wondering if there is any interest out there in this approach?.

Prodigy is dynamite to drive:- exactly like a C5 but with unique contemporary/classic styling.
Also the stock LS6 motor has a KB 2.6 supercharger, which now tuned gives around 550hp at the rear wheels, and gobs of torque.

Sweet As!

Ross -
welcome aboard - that is one sweet mod you've made there.
Great documentation and I'd say, "Whoever got the gold medals - must have had a pretty fantastic ride to beat out your Prodigy!"

You'll find plenty of Mod support here.

By the way - you'll want to add the VetteMod Banner to your links I'd wager!

Cheers - Jim

Welcome to the motley crew......

Krazy amount of work there man, good show.....so much so I"d be scared to drive it.....:harhar:

Outstanding car. Doing this from Australia adds quite a few dollars to the project! I can probably only think of the surface of your hassles with customs. Lived in Adelaide off and on for about 9 years. Actually, I lived in Glenelg. Fantastic city. When I first moved there, Rundall Mall was a city street just like all the others!

Wish I could have kept living there. My company lost our contract and we had to move back. Have many nice memories. Actually the Adelaide weather is much like my Torrance, Ca home. I think the summer gave you a little more weeks of warmth than here though.

Hopefully we'll get to hear some of your comments about new happenings with your car. .

Jim,

Mate, I didnt take Prodigy to Australia's biggest Hotrod show to win anything, but it sure was nice. It was taken to mark the end of a very long journey, and I really had no idea how all the judging panned out.
There were six categories, and Prodigy got a medal in five of them, and we were competing against 360 of Australia's top elite street cars.
It was pretty humbling I've got to tell you.

Just because you build your dream car, it sure doesn't necessarily follow that it is universally accepted. Sure, I've seen some unkind things said about her by the purists on some other forums, but generally, reaction has been far better than I could ever hope for.
I tell myself I don't really care what anybody else thinks, but after spending 8000 hours building her, my skin is not as thick as I'd like it to be.
On top of that,my tolerance for uninformed comments by folk that shoot from the hip without putting the brain in gear, or taking the trouble to truly understand what they are looking at, grates on me, but hey, I guess thats just life on the forums.

Rgds
Ross
