Engine/trans storage stand

I disconnected the TH350 from my old L48 SB today and had to modify the storage stand that I built from a Summit stand and some material from the hardware store.
My advice to anyone who wants a storage stand: build your own. That $50 plus shipping for the China made stand is a waste - if you want it to be sturdy and have the engine at a reasonable height: do it yourself or have it done at a local shop.

Yes, that's a whole lot better than the chinese thing summit sells.


I had a complete run in stand, I'll have to build a new one, chopped the old one up because I needed the tubing :)
 
I want to see pic's of how you used the garage door opener to lift the trans :drink:
 
looks good.....what is the plan for the car in the back ground?

The "plan" is to get it back on the road by summer 2009.... I posted a few more pics in the "projects" section , thread title is "made some progress today"
