casting # 3970010 engine stamp V0428HV see what you guys come up with.

3970010, Mortec.com says that this casting number was used in 302, 327 and 350 cid engines.

V0428HV decoded with help from NastyZ28.com.

V = Flint engine factory
04 = Month (April)
28 = day (28th of April)
HV = Suffix code used in 1965 Corvette 327cid/350hp engine with manual transmission.

Am I even close? :blush:

What does the casted date code say ?
If that says 65 as well, you have found a very odd thing.

Otherwise it appears to be a restamp.:confused2:

Yes, the "010" block was first cast in 1969. Something is "odd" here. :quote:
