Composite springs & exhaust heat

Are the composite mono springs (rear) subject to heat fatigue from being in close proximity to the exhaust pipes?

Yes, very much so. The suppliers of the spring usually include a heat shield to protect the spring the heat from the exhaust, plus the warranty states the the warranty is void if spring failure is caused by exhaust heat damage.

One can avoid a lot of problems with side pipes - no undercar exhaust getting in the way of everything you try to do

I agree Header wrap around the spring will work if side pipes are not in the picture.
