Chrome Wrap Treatment

A car's surface that was chrome plated steel, would get roaring hot on a sunny day. For chromed vinyl, maybe there's a layer of clear plastic between the chrome and the air. That would perhaps prevent this heating problem.

Take two highly polished aluminum plates. Bond glass to one of them..it now becomes a mirror. Place both plates in bright sunlight. The bare aluminum plate will reach egg cooking temps. The mirror will be cool. Putting a thin layer of clear plastic over chrome may produce the same effect.
