IMO, it's too bad GM never really came close to the awesome styling of Mitchell's influence again.

Yeh, true, but you gotta admit, that having won WW2, all the guys loved cars that reminded them of planes and maybe other war material.....
trick is, was, what to do after the trend is about worn out....and it was obvious that most had no idea WTF to do, now after 20 years of boring crap, it's back to the 'retro' look.....
