What year did the BBC get the 1 piece rear main seal?

Dunno Bird, but why would it matter?? as if you building someting, don't the aftermarket make a 2 piece neoprene seal for it?? for instance the 455, large journal Pontiac, engines used the 500 inch Caddy two piece rear seal but you have to be super careful and end gap that pubby with a dap of RTV on the ends or you will have a leak....BTDT years ago.....

I would imagine the same for the BBC.....

With the introduction of the GenV block, that's 96 I think.

The GenV is 1991-up. Think thats the first year for the one piece seal

Looked it up, it was 1990. 96 was the vortec 7400

I was thinking about 1990 or '91. GM did the SBC one piece about then too.
