I had the Accel replacement distributor taken off of my 'Vette today. The damn thing was giving me fits - it just was not reliable. The car would run fine, then I would turn it off and come back to start it, 10 minutes or 10 hours made no difference, and I would get a no start condition. I got tired of throwing parts and money at it. I had replaced the coil, module, cap and several rotors before finally giving up on it. I am thinking of rebuilding it and keeping it for a rainy day and thought I would ask advice here first.
A - is this distributor any good in the first place? It only has about 5K miles on it.
B - Is it worth rebuilding and if so what would you do to it?

Thanks

I stay away from accell everything, after one of their modules burned out on me, stranding me in traffic, after around 3k miles, and i got a cap from them (which was promptly returned) that looked like it was cast in a 3rd grader clay molding class.

So my sudden urge yesterday to resort to being a hammer technician was not misguided then.... :smash:

Damnit man, just DAMNIT.....would you QUIT invading MY territory already....

You would be AMAZED at the volume of electronicus crappicus that met a very definate but untimely END OF LIFE EXPERIENCE.......
