2004 race prepped Z06 what is this noise??

this noise just popped up on my buddies 2004 z06 race prepped FHC any ideas on what it could be?

well think of what happens when you miss a shift at 7,000 rpm and hit a lower gear....

look closely at 5:30 and 6:30 at the water jacket, in addition to the gouge in the piston

OUCH! Cracked block. Not a good day for that engine. I guess it could make a nice coffee table now.
