Brake Caliper Seal Kit - Front - Lip Type

I thought I explained it in post#12 In the simplest terms the oring acts as a seal and a spring. Works exactly the same as the latest "no drag" systems from all new car manufacturers.

Brake Caliper Seal Kit - Front - Lip Type

I can only speak for the ones I have used for years from fixvettes, all the others Should be the same, but I don't know for sure. These oring conversions are a "rigged" improvement toward the real oring brake tech that all manufacturers have been using for decades now. The true oring design...

Brake Caliper Seal Kit - Front - Lip Type

These guys have the best conversions. You can get by with just pistons and seals but they will sell you the whole kit or as many or as few parts as you need. Call or email them. http://www.fixvetteparts.com/ BTW, Do not use the springs with the orings.

    Vacuum hoses and PCV

Not really a question of the engine having enough vacuum, but no manufacturer that I have ever seen tee the 2 together. Must be a good reason. I assume possible contamination. I do know that all the oem pcv ports are distributed evenly to all cylinders thru the throttle plate or with fi, in the...

    Master cyl piston diameters.....

Smaller dia should give you more stroke and less pedal effort for the same amount of clamp pressure. You can calc the diff if you want. You can also lower the hole in the pedal arm. Don't know if this camper came with hydraboost or not, but if it is an add on, be aware there are different boost...

    Vacuum hoses and PCV

On the Holleys, the 3/8" port usually marked for the brake booster should be the pcv, it distributes evenly to the plenum. Booster is good in the runner. Had good pics of bottom side, but lost in the new Photobucket. Post a pic of the bottom side of that unit to be sure, but offhand I would...

    Slow return of brake pedal?

Compensation port is the tiny hole in the bottom of the master just ahead of the seals, that when exposed at rest, releases the brake fluid pressure to atmosphere pressure. It also allows for a slight new charge of fluid if necessary. You may have your master/booster rod a hair too long, not...

    Leaking BRAKE Fluid

Here is a pic of the proportioning valve on the lower right. I took out the rubber and installed the hex pipe plug. The part with the oring is pressed in to the valve, just heat up the large part and it pops out easily, then discard the guts. You'll loose any proportioning put earlier cars had...

    Wierd wear pattern

Taper of brake pads starting at the leading edge is totally normal and expected under harder and hotter use. I find it on most brakes of any vehicle I see. Nothing at all to worry about, just replace before rotor gouging. That is why the calipers on the zr1 are 6 piston different sized, with...

    Two unavailable gaskets

There is the rod seal that you absolutely need to keep vacuum in the booster. Used to be able to get them with the Bendix booster rebuild kit, but those aren't generally available now, only with a replacement booster. Supposedly, Booster Dewey will mail you one for cash. No other gasket need be...

    Caliper "lip seals"?

Don't know what problems you had with your zero tolerance pistons, but the incorrect piston groove dia and not enough "squeeze" on the oring probably was a cause of failure. The oring in a caliper application really is static even though over time and with pad wear the oring will travel in the...

    Truck/Motor Home tires....

The tires should be LT not car tires LT225/75/16 D are around 3000lbs at full rated pressure and the E are around 3500lbs ea. Big difference in sidewall stiffness and squirm. At least get good ones for the front. :smash: Check the Ryder or Uhaul local service centers for some good takeoffs cheap.
