my thought is I need a 3d printer.... the way I built that - the ends are removable/replaceable so I can experiment as I go along

You've been working the splitter. Thoughts on a diffuser? I do like the rear "murdered" look on the bumper-ettes. Nice touch. Plate and tail lights could use some tone down - if it passes Tech. Cheers - Jim

aero is for people who can't build engines. :) actually, I still need to do a diffuser - but next major mod will be a larger motor.

Well explained Pappy. That is why the diffuser "mod" on the splitter "effectively" lengthens the spltter. The lower pressure is moved forward and increases the downforce lever. Cheers - Jim

These front splitter "diffusers" do not make downforce at the discharge end, they actually create a low pressure area at the point where the floor of the diffuser starts to diverge from the ground. It works the same as diffusers at the rear of the car. If you create back pressure at the...

Yeah, I think if you look at pg 25 it shows a splitter diffuser. #488 & #495. I think there were a bunch of other posts, you would just have to work backwards to find them. The same principle as a rear diffuser.

I'm a bit interested in this because this is on the splitter, not the diffuser.

Pg 25 was first posts (working backwards) I saw on those diffuser ducts In Internal Body Aerodynamics Thread. There should be a bunch of older posts.

I heard one thing in this video that was new. That tire squirt vortices could upset the diffuser flow and strakes in the diffuser might help.

...side panel and the fender. Some clever ducting there to focus what we see down the side of the vehicle. The "Tailored Notch" looks a bit diffuser-like, wouldn't you say? I'll bet there is some significant area-rule work they've done just in that section. The front view shows the wide...

very nice, I like that idea. I noticed the same idea in a cool down fan in my pellet grill , which has a fan on for a cool down period

Pappy - Looking forward to seeing those. I'm on a slightly similar path and have shaped the upper surface, and the side walls. But, alas - rain so "glassin' the lower surfaces [of a sellig 1223 section] waits. Not just Tunnels - but an homage to the Lotus 78/79. Cheers - Jim

Hey Jim, I have the tunnels/belly pan/diffuser off the car right now doing some undercarriage work, but I was able to take a couple of photos to show how the diffuser tunnels are set up. The sketch shows how the tunnels blend into a rounded leading edge that is actually an extension of the...

Interesting. The side pod diffuser tunnels that they show as banned early in the video are what I have on my '56 - between the outside of the frame rail and the inside of the side body skirt. I have the rear wing adjusters on a bellcrank assembly with the future possibility of adding an...
