Ok - Ok - I'll make a drawing. I was disappointed that the C3 that looked like a rear deck solution - wasn't. So today, while going through some files, found this cool rear end treatment, that I need to share. I looked on Tineye and couldn't find it, so you've got to put up with my scan of...

    Internal Body Aerodynamics

BBShark, I skipped through it pretty fast, but I kind of thought he was winging it. :) His cad looked interesting, so figured l’d share the link. C4 corvettes are the last budget corvette. Edit: Watching it again made me think he didn’t do the cad.

...In either case with/without splitter, I'd close off the 3 openings on the bottom valance, given you have enough flow for the radiator. With wing only you certainly won't get a little tail happy! But, watch nose lift over a crest or bump: Jim is OK - the car a total, but being rebuilt...

Big (stupid) wing coming I bought from CIRO racing. The guy who owns the company races a C3 and has done really well autocrossing. Nice guy too... Okay so to explain 'stupid' I made a friend a couple years ago now, he's an autistic kid named Anthony.... he is amazing at forced perspective...

I'll relate what Richard Jung (Rick) has told me. Some of it relates to the discussion above. 1) Optima seems to only only a single wing *I'll post the rule at the bottom 2) In Optima, 8" above the deck is it 3) The suggestion, since SCCA doesn't limit the height, is have two sets of...

...degrees in my shop.... so I spent time trying to decide what I'm going to do about a stereo (soundbar suggestions are welcome) I also talked to CIRO today about a rear wing.... he runs a C3 as well, so lots of talking there....edited dual element? I don't know, I'm a wing virgin so I have...

absolutely, I did the back, first, because there were a lot more steps to making it happen then the front... the front is 'just' build the splitter

I like that gold car you posted ( although not a fan of gold paint). I’d like to know his impression of the wing addition (before vs after). I checked the notes, maybe need to go back and look at the comments.

SBG - Thanks for the links - looks like you're right on the brake cooling NACA duct in the roof - not a wing section. Nice optical illusion and willingness to "believe." Now, I've got some sketching to do... Cheers - Jim

    Rear spoilers

This seemed like the right place to add this. I was looking at wings on cars, following SBG's addition and did a "dive. Came up with some interesting notes to pass along. Most notable (stock car - not Can-Am/F-1) was theh Daytona Dodge and Super-Bird series wing cars. Sound like a '68-78...

I agree on the focus on light weight. Absolutely. The advantages are many. I'm at 2695# (with a quarter tank of fuel and full factory interior) My engine is a fuel sipper, but the light weight gives me a respectable power to weight ratio.

would you mind giving a primer on that subject.... I was wondering about the side-to-side rigidity with this design - but I'm sailing in uncharted waters....

...never sought to take his truck out (it did terrible then ran out of fuel) - but Holley gave him an entry (as a sponsor). SCCA, I can keep my wing at a height that works, don't miss SEMA to support the event, and don't get slapped in the face. Don't be terribly surprised if, next year, I...

...Blue C4 Grand Sport was OK but those custom C4-s left alot to be desired for my palate. All the C5, C6, C7 and C8's were endowed with gigantic rear wings. It seems there was contest for who could mount a bigger one. I can't remember who said it - ?? - a fool and his money are soon parted.

This guy has some aero upgrades. His wing is high, and is a ht convert. A typical c3 t top car would probably need the wing a bit higher due to dirty air from roof. https://www.digitalcorvettes.com/media/blowing-doors-off-944-turbo-and-gt3.44065/ You’ll need a dc login. Aren’t most auto-x...

...Size can be an issue for some racing associations. Tuning has both a plus and a minus. Certainly easier to manufacture a smaller wing as a multi-element than an equivalent high lift (downforce) extreme cambered wing. No doubt, both would have endplates to improve efficiency. I bet...

This year they have someone whose entire job is judging wings (last year, it was simply part of the function check (lights, signals, etc).... rule is highest point is no more the 8" above the deck, no wider then the stock fenders, and no taller then 6" below the roofline - all I know is the...

I have little confidence that this will survive in any recognizable form but I want the inlets and most of the shape - but it's too narrow for my plans so fiberglass fab is coming soon first part of my wing arrived and the regulator
