I haven't kept up with the newest generation of GM engines. The engine that is recalled is an L87. The issue seems to be the engine lubrication that causes them to seize up. Or, as GM refers to the problem "loss of propulsion". Pretty serious problem.

Looks like about 600,000 vehicles affected.
I will probably just do it the old fashioned way now that the weather is better. Making a huge mess outside instead of in my garage.
The giant metal eagle hanging is almost ready to take outside. It has hinged wings and sits on a pivot with a heavy counterbalance. The wind moves the bird...
Thanks for the behind the scenes look at your operation. Most parts supplier (of any vintage vehicle) these days, are probably just taking orders to drop ship parts like a mini amazon. Good to see someone who actually makes them.

So this company is pretty much issuing a statement that confirms "all our stuff is made in China, and we are making every effort to guarantee our profit margins". Not smart.
Saw this illustration in the film strip across the top of the page that shows the torsional rigidity of a 62 vs. 63 frame. If I recall correctly I think a modern (designed in the last 30-40 years) unibody car has a minimum 10,000 Lbs.ft/degree rigidity. Does that sound right?
I am in Cincinnati and my first exposure to Keen was about 15-20 years ago. I was working with a fabricator that was across the street from Keen and they were modifying a bunch of radiator core supports for Corvettes. They said they were for Keen. It seemed weird that this tiny retail store...
