When just cruising a lot of the times I'll just skip from 1st to 3rd to 5th. The gearing is close enough and the engine is torquey enough to do it. I figure it's easier on the clutch too.
So what about you guys? Anybody else skip gears?

I many times skip breakfast.

For skipping gears I often go 2nd to 4th.....

I have skip shift eliminated in my camaro, but I skip 3rd often. I think they should have made skip shift be 3rd, not second. Leasurly driving, 1-2 you are up to speed, skip 3rd into 4th for in town speeds.

I had a wide ratio muncie and 336, with TPI on my L48 stock engine, I went from 2nd to 4th all the time in traffic....unless on a steep hill....me be lazy...

:crap:

Never even thought about it...always fly through the gears. Just kinda programmed in, so to speak.

I will say this, with the stock Qjet on it, I did the same thing, but when the TPI was installed, that thing smoothed out on the torque curve SO much that I skip shifted with impunity....

:bump:

Used to all the time- That old Western Star truck had 20 forward speeds and 4 in reverse. Just didn't see much of a need for all of them all the time.
