I have the opportunity to grab a complete TPI setup for 40$.
I was wondering if a TPI conversion was something I should ever consider for my vette.

What years is it # on the bosch maf??? (see maf part numbers in tech section)

Well, looks like I've got enough to keep me busy next winter

Looks quiet complete, gaskets, 2 computer and a crapload of wires/connector.
He told me there is more than one kit, just in case.

Could be an f body setup too, looking at the fuel rails I'm convinced it is. F body has front fed fuel rails, vettes rear side. The lower manifold will have the 2 center holes in the heads angled @ 72 deg instead of 90 so you'll need to watch that when bolting it down.
F bodies came w/ an el cheapo plastic dizzy cover (don't see any cover in your pic though)

1st thing you should do is order some Bosch IIIs in 22lbs and toss those stock things, it looks like you have rochesters like most 86 & 87s, not the multec but they are junk either way. Would hate for you to bolt it all on (not a fun job if it's your 1st time) only to have to tear it apart because of crappy injectors.

GOOD on you, green weenie, that is a SCORE!!!!

I been through the install and mods on that sort of unit for 16 years now....from stock through the big mouth/large diameter pipes in airflow and manifolds to the unit I have now....a cut up LT1 induction but you should be very happy with that purchase....

some guys don't NEED a gun.....:clap::yahoo:

Oh, and vette units are fed/returned from the front on the pass side, the pipes are up front on the driver's side for any other install I know of....

never seen one with input/return in the rear of the engine....

if you need help lemme know,...BTDT....

:flash::bonkers::hi:

For now I'm gonna store it, so much more important things to do, but this winter for sure I'll get back to you guys for help.
Thanks TT and Gene for the inputs.

I'm on a cheap deal rampage,
I also have a 125$ twin turbo custom hood deal in the making,
now where the hell is my 300$ WC-T5?:club::lol:

Here's your 200$ WC t5, yes it's aWC see the timken bearing race

Why would you want a T5, they are weak. Most people think it's the gears but it's the housing that's the suck, the housing stretcjes the countershaft bearing bore, this will ff up the gear meshing and then they die quickly. FI you ahve a T5 that moans or is hard to shift it's on the way out most likely. G-Force does have a replacement case that's a lot beefier and not that expensive

Orange injectors out of an Ford are a great swap on the cheap if you don't want to spend the money on new injectors.

That is a great score, you should be very happy.

For christ sake would you please stop reading my mind for a minute.:cussing::hissyfit::drink:

I did a quick search, looks like the injector size depends of a lot of factors.
I think I'll have to do some homework before I make any move.

Just remember that the phrod stuff is rated @ a lower pressure.

Hey denpo, if you need a 90-91 Camaro SD harness for cheap let me know. It has like 3 cut connectors for the distributor but a real easy fix. This harness even has the wiring to run dual electric fans.

was going to use it on my 82 vette but have decided to just keep the crossfire on the car.

Saw that page here: http://sethirdgen.org/tpi1.htm, that states that for a 350ci 22lbs injectors are required, I guess that correlates what you're saying.
Also read that fuel pump pressure must be matched.
Still a lot to learn.....

I'll remember that Jeff, thanks.
So a MAF based computer can be retrofitted to handle a MAP sensor/harness?

Yeah Ford runs Orange 19lb injectors in there small blocks @ like 37lb. When you run them at the higher 45lb that a GM runs you will be fine with them.
