VIN Search

I am trying to locate a 1969 Camaro by its VIN and coming up empty. This was my fathers car that he sold when my parents got married. I know it hasn't been registered in IL and WI in the last 10 years (thats as far back as I have been able to go). All of the title search companys only seem to do 17 digit number. Does anyone have any suggestions on tracking this car? The VIN is 124379N672843.

Good luck, I don't think you will find any that can track the history of a pre 81 car.

Call your state DMV and ask them if they can help. Or if you have a friend that's a cop he might be able to find out. The problem with that (asking a cop) is that if he runs the VIN and it gets a "hit" from the DMV, he'll have to produce something to show what/why he checked the VIN.
