I have a 1982 CrossFire. The air pump and the rest of the emisions (air tubes etc.) have been removed. Can I simply remove the EGR valve and block it with a plate or is it going to screw up the ECM and start setting codes and stuff? Also if its ok will I gain any HP? Thanks Rob

Yes, you can remove it and remove the EGR solenoid too. Plug off the TB vac port. The manifold is easily blocked off with a simple block off plate. More power? No, not really. The EGR does not work @ WOT. It will not trip codes, it will keep that CFI manifold cleaner. Another trick I used was to use a paper element filter in the PCV to manifold line to keep that side of the plenum clean.
