Rear DIff Seal - Use gasket seal also?

Quick question, do you guys add a small bit of tube gasket seal material around the outside of the seal before seating the new seal? At the metal to metal fit.

Between the cover and the housing?? Just something to hold the gasket in place. Weather strip glue, RTV, grease, what ever is handy.

Around the OD of the seals is a good place for locktite.

63-79 Iron Diff's
Pinion seal = use Ultra Black on seal OD, grease on ID, #2 on the yoke splines.
Side yoke seals= same only nothing on the splines
Rear cover = Ultra Black on both sides of the gasket.
